Duet privacy policy

What Duet is
Duet is a company memory: it reads the work sources a company connects (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Slack, Notion and meeting notes) and extracts the commitments, decisions and facts in them, each citing its source.
What we access
- Your Google name, email address and profile picture, to sign you in.
- With your consent, read-only access to your Gmail, Google Drive and Google Calendar. Duet never sends, deletes, labels or edits anything; every scope it asks for is read-only.
- Workspace sources an admin connects (Slack channels the Duet bot is in, Notion pages shared with Duet).
How we use it
- Only to provide Duet to your company: to index, search and extract records that members of your workspace can see.
- A record is visible only to the people who can already read its source. Admins get no access to other members' private data.
- We do not sell data, do not show ads and do not use your data to train general-purpose AI models. Text is sent to our AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI) only to extract records and answer your questions, under terms that forbid them from training on it.
Google user data
Duet's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Humans at Duet Machines do not read your Google data unless you ask us to for support, it is needed for security or legal compliance, or it is aggregated and anonymized.
Storage, retention and deletion
- Data is stored encrypted in AWS (us-east-1); connection credentials are encrypted separately.
- Disconnecting a source removes the items it provided. Leaving or being removed from a workspace purges your connections.
- An owner can delete the workspace at any time; that deletes every member, connection, item and record in it.
- You can revoke Duet's Google access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
